( Farm in Thailand)last trip i visit many place in thailand. there is a small in near to cambodia give me a very impressive memory. The history of the swiftlet farming in this small town only a few years, but the volume of the swiftlet is more than many place in malaysia.
according to the farm owner, a few uint of farm are more than 10000 birdnest, in malaysia hardly seen this result.
This owner own a farm at this strategic location. Recently he plan to manage the farm himself. He hope with my skill and knowledge about swiftlet will help him to increase the result of his farm. A lot of swiftlet around 100 feet of this area.In fact, I noticed the external sound they used are not popular in malaysia, i hardly used those sound now.
This trip my main mission is to upgrade the external sound. i changed the external sound and notice the respond of the swiftlet. After changing the sound, we started noticing many swiftlet respond to the sound. The owner said the all the external sound he tried before (his own sound) not showing any result. We also tried some sound to compare the result. I noticed some sound not showing good result but most of the sound i tried gave a positive result.
The worker who take care of this farm no ideal about the management of the farm. He never notice the sound whether attract the swiftlet of not,t not notice the respond and flying path of swiftlet after entering the farm, temperature changing................ They used very traditional method to lure the swiftlet.
Another problem i noticed was the farm design is very difficult in directing the swiftlet to other floor of farm. All the swiftlet are staying on top floor. I tried to used the sound to guild the swiftlet to lower floor.
Recently the owner called me, he said more swiftlets go into his farm now. My Swiftlet Gathering System is ready and will ship to thailand soon. I believe after installing the swiftlet gathering system, the farm will work better.
If the farm design, sound, management of farm are correct, the nest in this farm will increase to 1000 is possible.
